With reference to the Home Office letter No. A 5858575, I have the honour to report for the information of the Secretary of State, that the Governor of Holloway Prison states that the Female Officer from Hong Kong Prison, who accompanied Convict Edith Carew on the "Sumatra" - Miss Felomeno Lewis - is at present lodging in that Prison.

She has applied to the Governor for funds for her maintenance while there, having very little money in her possession. Miss Lewis speaks little English and cannot acquaint the Governor with any instructions received on her departure for this country. She is to return to Hong Kong.
